In Preston's Seminars, you'll be there every step of the way, from the most basic obedience - heel, come, whoa - through handling in the field, where you will learn to steer your dog to specific objectives without using voice, whistle, or hand signals - and finally, developing your dog's natural instincts as a hunter to make your dog a skillful bird finder with a hunting pattern and behavior that will please you.
In the Six (6), Brown City, Michigan sessions included in the seminar, Preston will endow you with his unique ability to communicate with dogs, and he will offer specific instructions in how to use his "Least Force Method: to get your dog to cheerfully and enthusiastically develop into a hunting dog that is fun to hunt with.
The "Preston Mann Least Force Method" of training means that whenever a correction is appropriate, we will use the least amount of force necessary to get the dog to respond properly. The operative word in necessary, since dogs vary infinitely in their personalities and the forcefulness of a correction must be adjusted to the specific dog being trained. At the same time, Preston will be using his great experience and creativity to get the dog to succeed so that praise rather than force can be used as the primary motivator.
